Superhuman: Designing Tiny Habits for Fostering Flow

Imagine increasing your motivation and productivity by 500%, improving your learning and memory by 230%, and your creativity and innovation by over 430%.

These are just a few of the superhuman improvements that turns out to be neurobiologically wired into all of us.

I'm talking about Flow states. Those times when you feel your best and perform at your best. You're in the zone.

Creativity and innovation go through the roof. You make and connect more ideas. You see more of the playing field. The inner critic is silenced so risk taking goes up. You are willing to try new things.

When you're in flow, you are 3x as fast and have better recall than people in a steady state.

Your connection to your why, the meaning and purpose of your tasks, increases.

All this leads to greater engagement and productivity.

You are superhuman.

Earlier this month, I partnered with Erwin Valencia, a Columbia University certified Executive & Organizational Coach for Individuals & Teams and a fellow certified Tiny Habits® Coach.

We are also both members of the Flow Research Collective and created a series of talks to combine the latest research in Flow states with actionable behavioral design principles using Stanford Professor BJ Fogg's Tiny Habits behavior change methodology.

Our goal with this series is to help you outpace and outperform your competition by becoming MORE effective and MORE productive in this Covid environment.

Risk, novelty, complexity and uncertainty fill our world right now and it turns out these are all key triggers to enter flow states.

We view living in a Covid world as an opportunity to help you reframe your experience to focus on growth, reframe fear, and recognize that the pre-conditions for the optimal state of consciousness - flow - is abundant in our daily lives.

Our Fostering Flow series is presented in three parts:

Tiny Habits for Fostering Flow at Home, Work, and Play

Fostering Flow At Work For Individuals and Executives

Tiny Habits for Fostering Flow for Teams

We've also created an Action Guide for Fostering Flow at Home, Work, and Play: The Tiny Habits Way -- Leveraging Risk, Novelty, Complexity and Unpredictability To Drive Greater Focus, Involvement and Enjoyment. Visit FosteringFlow.com to download the PDF.
